Handwashing is the best way to care for your crochet items. Use a gentle detergent used for washing baby clothes and delicates. Fill a sink or basin with cool to warm water. Pull the lining inside out and submerge in the water.  Swish it around gently. Rinse with cool water until water is clean. Do not twist or wring it out to remove water.  Wrap it in a towel.  Once excess water is removed, shape the crocheted portion and lay flat to dry.  Leave the lining outside of the bag while it dries. It is recommended that you reapply  Scotchgard Fabric Crafts Water Shield annually or after washing your bag. Click on the link to learn more about  how to clean your crochet bag.

Pilling occurs when yarn rubs against yarn and the friction causes little knots to form.  This is hard to prevent but you can lessen the extent of it by hand washing your crochet bag.  Click on this link to learn more about pilling and how you can prevent it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boEk69HTv8w

Our handbags are constructed with water repellent treated yarn and a waterproof lining. The yarn on the exterior of the bag is not waterproof but has been treated to repel water based spills. The main lining is waterproof and will prevent water from the outside of the bag coming through to the inside and vice versa. Some of our bags have an additional decorative, cotton lining, on top of the waterproof lining, that is not waterproof.  However, it is treated to be water repellent.  It is recommended that you reapply  Scotchgard Fabric Crafts Water Shield annually or after washing your bag.
