Our Story
Sonya Corrica, the owner of J. Smith Custom Bags, is an independent crochet bag designer that specializes in creating exclusive, handcrafted, crochet handbags that can be customized to fit your unique style.
It all started with a God-given desire to take up crocheting. After a year and a half of making headbands, socks, and blankets, the desire to create handbags struck. Like most women, purses and handbags appeal to me. They are fashionable, useful, and, for the majority, essential. I educated myself by watching how-to videos and conducting research on making purses, stitching linings, and other related things. I made some for friends and family and the amazement and gratitude they showed has been very rewarding. Though tedious, I am driven to ensure quality throughout the entire process. God is the inspiration behind my original works and my desire to pursue this creative journey. I want to manifest His beauty as the creator by using the abilities He has given me.

Our Products
J. Smith’s custom handbags are crocheted and hand-crafted by yours truly. Every bag is expertly crafted using a blend of water-resistant treated yarn and quality waterproof lining. To fit your taste, you can customize the purse's exterior and interior colors, as well as the length of the strap. The amount of time needed to make each bag varies. My ready-made, stock items are one-of-a-kind and rare, which makes them extremely remarkable.
